A Lifetime of Dedication: Kevin's 50 Years in the Craft
16 October 23
Not many brethren wouldn’t know the name of Kevin McGlinn OAM or seen his name on past Grand Lodge missives.
RW Bro Kevin McGlinn OAM PDGM is a member of The Balmain Lodge No. 23 and recently he was presented with his 50-year service certificate and jewel, in a heartfelt tribute and presentation by RW Bro Alan Farrell PDGM, Past Chairman Board of Management, and holder of Carrington Medal of Honor.
In his presentation, he outlined RW Bro McGlinn's Masonic history –
"Kevin was Initiated in Lodge Albert Chandler No. 974 on 18 October 1973. Passed and Raised in Lodge Albert Chandler in December 1973 and January 1974. Lodge Albert Chandler consolidated with Lodge Pacific No 114 in 1976. Kevin elected Senior Deacon behind Arthur Perry who was elected Junior Warden, both formed a very close friendship".
Kevin, over 46 years served in many positions at Lodge and Grand Lodge levels:

RW Bro McGlinn was conferred ranks of Past Assistant Grand Master in 2004 and Past Deputy Grand Master in 2008. Awarded the Order of Australia Medal awarded 2020 for ‘Service to the community through Freemasonry’.
In a single word RW Bro Alan Farrell described Kevin as a “Friend” and remarked it was his privilege in making this presentation instead of his mate, Arthur Perry who has sadly passed to the Grand Lodge above.
The evening was attended by the WM, Wardens and Brethren of the Balmain Lodge, supported by several distinguished Brethren, including the Regional Grand Councillor of Region 2, RW Bro Brian Samson and DGIW, VW Bro Peter Goodridge of District 23.
The well-earned emotional tribute was witnessed by all the brethren in attendance and the emotional spirit continued long after at the festive board.
Congratulation RW Bro Kevin McGlinn on 50 years in the Craft, and thank you for your continued service.
