A Night of Brotherhood and Benevolence at Lodge Blacktown Kildare No. 393
11 November 25
The October meeting of Lodge Blacktown Kildare No. 393 was one to remember—a gathering that reflected the true heart of Freemasonry: brotherhood, charity, and shared purpose. The evening was made all the more memorable as the Grand Master, Most Worshipful Brother Bernie Khristianne Albano, personally conducted the Raising of Brother Paul Aviquivil. The ceremony was dignified, sincere, and deeply moving. To have the Grand Master preside over such a milestone in a Brother’s Masonic journey was both an honour and an inspiration to all present.
Adding further distinction to the evening, the Deputy Grand Master, RW Beo Paul Shultz, delivered the Final Charge to our newly Raised Brother, offering words of encouragement and guidance that resonated with every Mason in the room. It was a moment that beautifully captured the living spirit of our Craft—where learning, mentorship, and shared values transcend rank or title.
The warmth of the occasion was magnified by the presence of visiting Brethren from Oklahoma, USA, Melbourne, Canberra, Orange, and Newcastle. Their attendance transformed the meeting into a true celebration of global fellowship. Conversations flowed easily, laughter filled the room, and the ties of friendship were strengthened across distances and jurisdictions alike.
During the festive board, another highlight unfolded. Worshipful Master Rex Calapis, on behalf of the Lodge, presented a cheque for $10,000 to the Grand Charity Fund. The funds were raised through the Grand Master’s Cup and a series of Lodge fundraising initiatives held throughout the year. This substantial donation was gratefully accepted by the Grand Master on behalf of the Grand Charity and stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when Brethren work together in the spirit of Humility, Integrity, and Harmony.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was one of joy and purpose. Brother Aviquivil’s Raising marked not just a personal milestone, but also a reminder of the collective strength of our fraternity—of the values that bind us and the good we can achieve in unity. The presence of so many guests, the generous charitable contribution, and the rare honour of having the Grand Master himself conduct the ceremony combined to make this a night that will long be remembered within the walls of Lodge Blacktown Kildare No. 393.
