Consecration of Chapter Oorana 1053

On Saturday 8th July 2023, Chapter Oorana 1053 of Mark and Royal Arch Masons was consecrated, which now forms the second "Masonic Fraternity" with its Craft Lodge, Lodge Oorana 1053.
The Petersham Masonic Centre was the venue for the consecration of Royal Arch Chapter Oorana 1053 by Most Excellent Companion Robert Mitchell Drake and his Grand Chapter team.
The Grand Master, MW Bro Lesley Hicks attended accompanied by The Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro Khris Albano, The Senior Grand Warden, RW Bro Arnel Landicho and other members of the Grand Ceremonial Team, all attended this consecration.
Lodge Oorana is known as the ‘Police Lodge’ as its members are former or currently serving police officers. It grew out of the Police Oorana Club. The new Chapter will carry the same number as their Craft Lodge of 1053.
Both Lodge & Chapter Orana 1053 each hold a "travelling charter". This permits both the lodge & chapter to hold their meetings at any Masonic meeting place. Being a Masonic Fraternity, they can offer their Masons the opportunity to take the 5 Degrees which make up pure Ancient Freemasonry. These consist of the Entered Apprentice, the Fellow Craft, and the Master Mason, together with the Honourable Degree of Mark Master Mason, and the Supreme Order of the Holy Royal Arch.
Following the consecration, the Installation of the Foundation Principals and officers took place, the Foundation First Principal, R Ex Comp Peter Trow was installed by his Brother, R Ex Comp Henry Trow. The Grand Master and the AGDC were in attendance as they are both Past First Principals.
Following the Installation ceremony and a short interlude Lodge Oorana 1053 was opened. The Grand Master, the First Grand Principal and Grand Master of Mark and Royal Arch Masons and a delegation of Grand Officers Grand entered The Lodge.
Following the work, a lecture on "Zen", Bro Justin who is a member of Lodge Oorana, was presented his Master Mason Certificate by the Grand Master.
After the lodge closed a celebratory banquet was enjoyed by all who remained to celebrate the day.
