Goulburn Lodge of Australia: a new chapter emerges.

06 September 23

Goulburn, a town steeped in history, witnessed a significant event on Saturday, 19th August, as Goulburn Lodge of Australia convened a milestone meeting at the Goulburn Masonic Centre. The preceding month had marked a poignant moment with the surrender of Lodge William Ross' Charter, setting the stage for a gathering that would shape the future of Masonic brotherhood in the region.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as members and guests filled the Lodge. A sense of unity permeated the room as over 20 affiliating members from the former Lodge William Ross were warmly welcomed. This meeting, however, held a dual significance, coinciding with Goulburn Lodge of Australia's annual election of officers.

The election process and enthusiastic acceptances rippled through the room as nominations were made for every office including two stewards. The appointment of one candidate, an Entered Apprentice, and two Fellow Craft members brought a glimmer of promise. This assemblage foreshadowed a renaissance of growth and prosperity for the Craft across the Goulburn region.

A sense of restoration resonated as the Lodge found its footing on a solid foundation. With renewed vigor, plans were unveiled for a strategic recruitment drive across the geographical expanse separating Canberra and South Sydney. The stage was set for a resurgence, underpinned by the legacy of those who came before and those who have a vision to drive the importance of Freemsonry.

The future shone brightly with the incoming principal officers: WM-Elect, W Bro I Leisk; SW-Elect, RW Bro R Cholawinskyj; and JW-Elect, RW Bro D Yeomans. Their leadership would extend to mentoring the newly elected Deacons, all Master Masons, guiding them through the intricate work of all Degrees. Under the exemplary guidance of DC-Elect, RW Bro K Bellingham, the traditional skills of ceremony and ritual would flourish.

A moment of honour was granted as DGIW 47 presented a 50 and 70-year Service award with a gleaming jewel.
