Hunter Valley Freemasons Rallies to Support the Fight Against DIPG
13 August 25
Hunter Valley Freemasons are proud to stand alongside those battling Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) — a rare and aggressive brain tumour that most often affects children, and which claims more young Australian lives each year than any other disease.
Also known as Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG), this cancer develops in the “pons” — the brain’s control centre at the top of the spinal cord. Its impact is devastating: there are currently no effective treatments, and prognosis is grim. Most patients survive only a few months after diagnosis, with just 10% living beyond two years and fewer than 1% reaching five years.
Partnering with RUN DIPG
To help change these statistics, Hunter Valley Freemasons are partnering with RUN DIPG, a charity committed to improving outcomes for patients, families, and communities affected by this disease. RUN DIPG raises awareness, empowers advocates, and funds vital research into new treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
