Lodge Sydney St George No. 269 – A Remarkable Night of Brotherhood and Tradition

09 May 25

By W Bro Jeffrey Bryan, Worshipful Master

On a memorable evening at the regular meeting of Lodge Sydney St George No. 269, the Brethren gathered for a night defined by tradition, unity, and celebration. In a heartfelt and solemn ceremony, the Lodge proudly initiated Bro. Christian Rances into the Craft, with valuable assistance from Brethren of Lodge Double Bay No. 331 and Lodge Honour No. 1054. The evening was further enriched by beautifully rendered charges delivered by RW Bro Scott Bacon, VW Bro Bill Tougher, Bro Michael Mchale Riomalos, and Bro Juan Gaselos Riomalos—each delivered with clarity and feeling, embodying the timeless values of Freemasonry.

The occasion was further elevated by the presence of Brethren from seven Lodges: Lodge Double Bay No. 331, The Lodge Federation No. 196, Parramatta City Daylight Lodge No. 1014, Lodge Honour No. 1054, Lodge Camden No. 217, Lodge Liverpool No. 197, The Jubilee Southern Highlands Daylight Lodge No. 162, and United Lodge of Sydney No. 11—showcasing the enduring bonds of Masonic fellowship. In keeping with cherished custom, the District Travelling Gavel was formally handed over to The Lodge Federation, reinforcing the spirit of connection and visitation among Lodges in the district.

In addition to the degree work, the evening marked two exciting milestones for Lodge Sydney St George: the unveiling of the newly designed Lodge tie and the Lodge’s very first official ring—both now proudly worn as symbols of identity, pride, and unity among its members.

A Master Mason Certificate was also presented to Bro Jayson Alviar in recognition of his achievement and progression within the Craft.

This evening held particular significance for me, as it marked the final degree ceremony of my term as Worshipful Master, which concludes in July 2025. I take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to all the Brethren and supporters for their tireless and continuous encouragement throughout my tenure.

Lodge Sydney St George No. 269 extends its warmest thanks to all visiting Brethren and Ladies for their presence and support, helping to make the evening truly memorable.

A night of tradition, brotherhood, and celebration—this gathering stands as a shining example of what it means to be a Freemason.
