Nowra Freemasons' Installation Banquet Raises $3280 for Local Causes

Lodge Nowra Unity No. 60 recently celebrated its Re-Installation Ceremony and Banquet, marking VW Bro David Baker PDGIW's continuation as Worshipful Master for the second consecutive year.

The Grand Master, MW Bro Les Hicks was in attendance and the Re-Installation ceremony was conducted flawlessly by The Deputy Grand Master and Grand Master Elect RW Bro Khris Albano.

VW Bro David Baker PDGIW and VW Bro Ian Collins PDGDC were presented with their Certificates of Conferred Rank from the Grand Master, a moment of great pride for both members of Lodge Nowra Unity.

While the brethren were engaged in the ceremony, the ladies and guests were treated to refreshments and entertained by Mr Scott Usback, also known as 'A 3rd of The Byrd,' treated to an acoustic set of pop and rock music, much to the delight of all.

Following the ceremony brethren joined ladies and guests for the celebratory banquet at The Worrigee Sports Club. The evening continued with musical entertainment by 'A 3rd of The Byrd,' who performed fine jazz music.

A raffle held during the event raised $3,280 The first prize, a two-night accommodation and wine tasting experience, was generously donated by Silo's Estate in Jaspers Brush. The second and third prizes were donated by Valentino's for Men in Nowra.

The highlight of the night was the live auction of a limited-edition UGL of NSW & ACT Grand Lodge Seiko branded watch. This classic timepiece, number 007 of only 101 units made in 2023, was highly contested in the auction but was finally won by Bro Ory Purhonen, one of Lodge Nowra Unity's Entered Apprentice Freemasons.

The evening ended in true Lodge Nowra Unity fashion: joyfully, with camaraderie, and the heartfelt sentiment, “Happy have we met!”
