Strengthening bonds
08 July 26
The Most Worshipful Grand Master of the Philippines, Raul E Canon Jr, and Grand Master Elect Robert Joseph S Moran Jr warmly welcomed 26 foreign delegations to the Annual Communication 2026 of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines (ANCOM 2026).
Among the distinguished international visitors attending the four-day event in April was a strong contingent from the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory, reflecting the enduring fraternal ties that unite Freemasons across nations and jurisdictions.
Held against the picturesque backdrop of Tagaytay, ANCOM 2026 proved to be a significant gathering dedicated to fellowship, unity, and the shared principles of Freemasonry. Brethren from around the world came together to celebrate the strength of international masonic relations and reaffirm the values of cooperation, mutual respect, and institutional continuity that underpin the Craft.
The Grand Master, MW Bro Khris Albano accompanied by the Grand Secretary, MW Bro Les Hicks (GM40), together with several Grand Lodge Officers and brethren, stood proudly alongside their international counterparts throughout the proceedings. The presence of delegations from numerous jurisdictions reinforced the spirit of harmony and shared purpose that characterised the event.
As with many important international masonic assemblies, ANCOM 2026 provided an invaluable opportunity for Grand Masters, Grand Lodge officers, and brethren to exchange ideas, strengthen longstanding friendships, and foster new avenues of cooperation. The gathering served as a powerful reminder that while jurisdictions may be separated by distance, they remain united by common values, traditions, and a commitment to the betterment of humanity.
Adding further significance to the visit, the NSW & ACT delegation attended the installation and investiture of officers of Elysian Lodge No. 418 in Manila. By special dispensation, this lodge of the United Grand Lodge of NSW & ACT conducted its meeting overseas – an uncommon and historic occasion for our jurisdiction. The event highlighted the global reach of our fraternity and demonstrated how the light of Freemasonry continues to shine wherever brethren gather in peace, friendship, and mutual understanding.
The proceedings concluded in an atmosphere of harmony and renewed fraternal goodwill, with strengthened relationships between jurisdictions and reinforcing a shared commitment to the future of universal Freemasonry. The participation of the NSW & ACT delegation at both ANCOM 2026 and the historic meeting of Elysian Lodge No 418 reflected our Grand Lodge’s continuing engagement within the international masonic community and created further opportunities for cooperation, friendship, and brotherly exchange.
ANCOM 2026 will be remembered as a successful and notable occasion, one that celebrated the universality of Freemasonry and further strengthened the bonds that unite brethren across the globe.
