On Saturday, 28 September 2025, the picturesque Macarthur Grange Country Club provided the perfect backdrop for the 6th Grand Master’s Cup Charity Event, proudly organised by Lodge Blacktown Kildare. Seventeen enthusiastic golfers—brethren and friends alike—came together in the spirit of fellowship, sportsmanship, and charity.
Nestled in the rolling Varroville Valley of Western Sydney, Macarthur Grange Country Club is home to an 18-hole championship course that combines sweeping fairways, elevated greens, and challenging water features. Known for its links-style layout and panoramic vistas from the clubhouse verandas, it offered both a scenic and strategic setting for the competition. With its modern function centre and hospitality facilities, the venue proved ideally suited for a Masonic charity event where fellowship and purpose go hand in hand.
The tournament itself was both demanding and enjoyable, with strong performances across all divisions. Yet beyond the scores and fairway challenges, the day once again demonstrated how the combined support of brethren, sponsors, and friends can transform a simple round of golf into a meaningful contribution toward charitable causes.
The Grand Master’s Cup Committee—RW Bro Troy Gara, RW Bro Edgar Dela Cruz, VW Bro Rosendo Binay, and W Bro John Callao—was warmly acknowledged for their seamless organisation and tireless dedication. Special recognition was also extended to Bro Benjamin Macabante, Junior Warden, whose coordination of the venue and reception ensured that all participants enjoyed a smooth and memorable experience.
Adding further significance to the occasion was the presence of RW Bro Paul Schultz, Deputy Grand Master, who graciously represented the Grand Master. His attendance and words of support were warmly received, reinforcing the importance of events such as these in strengthening both the charitable and fraternal spirit of Freemasonry.
The day concluded with the announcement of Mr Alex Arboleda as Overall Champion. Though he had departed before the formal presentation, his close friend, RW Bro Roland Martinez accepted the trophy and prize on his behalf. The moment captured the essence of the event—friendship, generosity, and shared pride in achievement.
As the sun set over Macarthur Grange, participants and organisers alike reflected on a day where the values of fellowship, integrity, and charity were once more brought to life. The 6th Grand Master’s Cup Charity Event not only celebrated the game of golf but also reaffirmed the enduring commitment of Freemasonry to making a positive difference within the wider community.
