Recently RW Bro Chris Craven, Curator of the Museum of Freemasonry at the United Grand Lodge of NSW and ACT. Travelled to Chile to attend the Sixth Assembly of the Asia Pacific Conference in his capacity as the Executive Secretary of the Asia Pacific Conference.

Australia will host the Seventh Assembly scheduled for 2025.

The Sixth Assembly of the Conference of Grand Lodges of the Asia Pacific has come to an end, leaving an important legacy of debate and reflection on crucial issues for the region and how a contribution can be made to society through ethics.

The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Chile, Sebastián Jans Pérez, highlighted the value of bringing together 22 Grand Lodges from around the world and discussing relevant topics for the Order and Society.

"It has been very significant that our brothers can learn about some important aspects regarding our reality as a country, what its institutions are. We have been able to visit the Senate and be received by the President of the Senate Foreign Relations Commission. And I believe that it is very important from the point of view of showing what we are as a country, what we are as a Masonic institution and also what our permanent institutions of the Republic are, which is consistent with what we are as Freemasonry." . - Sebastián Jans Pérez

The detailed conclusions of the Sixth Assembly are in the process of being drafted, but focus on the influence of ethics on decision-making and the important role of Freemasonry in the countries of the region.

In this regard, the Grand Master mentioned: "First of all, open a debate regarding some issues that are important today in the Asia Pacific regional reality. Today, important certainties are needed and institutions that have an ethical objective have to make a contribution to improve the vision of the decisions that are made. And in that sense, we already have some quite important approximations and coincidences regarding the role that Freemasonry has to play in their respective countries, pointing to ethical objectives, such as those that have always Order has sustained."

Finally, he highlighted the fact that the Seventh Assembly will be held in Melbourne, Australia, in 2025, marking another milestone in this regional forum
